How to Lock Chat Access for a Section in Chat for Schools

In this article, you will learn how to lock a section's access to Chat for Schools.

1. From your Chat Portal homepage, click "Students."
   
   
2. In the "Section" dropdown, select an individual section or "All sections."
   
   
   
   
3. Click the gray lock icon to the right of the section dropdown.
   
   
   
   
4. Here, you have the ability to lock access for a number of time frames:
   
   1. 1 hour
   2. Until 3pm
   3. Indefinitely
   4. Custom time
      
      1. The "Custom time" locks chat until a set date and time.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Select the resources you would like to lock. You can choose:
   
   1. Chat mode
   2. Tutor mode
   
   
   
   
   
6. Click "Lock Students."
