About the Computer Science Progress Dashboard

In this article, you will learn how to navigate the Student Progress Dashboard.

Last updated - April 12, 2024

The Student Progress Dashboard allows teachers to view student progress for an entire class or an individual student. To access the Student Progress Dashboard, click "Student Progress" button from your Educator portal homepage, or click "Student Progress" in the drop-down menu.

A note about the progress update: progress is managed by section. This means that when a student completes an activity, the progress will only be visible in the progress for that section. The progress is still attached to the student's account, but it will only be visible in the section it was completed in.

Unit View

The Unit View displays a section's progress for an entire unit. Here you will see student completion progress for a number of different lessons. Clicking a progress circle that corresponds with a student name and a lesson name will display a pop-up window that shows completion progress for each activity.

Lesson View

The Lesson View displays a section's progress for a single lesson. Here you can see if an activity was started or completed. You can also view each student's code submissions for each activity. Within the Lesson View, you will have an overview button along with buttons for the checkpoint, quiz, and challenge progress. Lessons that contain games and block activities will include buttons for that progress as well.

Progress Scope

Both the Unit and Lesson views include a "Scope" dropdown. Here you can choose between "Section-focused" and "All Time" progress.

  • The "Section-focused" scope will only display student progress that was completed in the selected section.

  • The "All time" scope displays student progress completed in any section. all time scope 1

Assessment Progress

On the Assessment Progress page, you are able to view scores for the pre-assessment, post-assessment, and a comparison of the two. The drop-down menus at the top of the page allow you to select a section and an assessment to view. To the right of these menus, you can view an assessment breakdown, an assessment summary, and a preview of the assessment.
