In this article, you will learn how to add the "Launch Skill Struck" feature to the Canvas course navigation.

If your district has the Skill Struck LTI 1.3 set up in Canvas, the following update will allow students to launch Skill Struck from within a course. To do this, you will need to update the developer key and verify the app placement.
If you are setting up Canvas for the first time, this feature will be included. Click here for an article on how to set up Skill Struck in Canvas.
How to Update the Developer Key

In your Canvas admin portal, navigate to "Developer Keys."

Find the developer key for Skill Struck.

Click the pencil icon underneath the "Actions" column to edit the key.

Under Placements, click the dropdown to add Course Navigation.

Click "Course Navigation" once it appears at the bottom.

Update the following fields for Course Navigation:

Target Link URI: https://my.skillstruck.com/account/canvas

Text: Launch Skill Struck

Click the blue "Save" button.
How to Verify App Placement
After completing the setup, we recommend verifying the app placement.
- Navigate to "External Apps" and click the gear icon.
- Click "Placements."
- Confirm that "Course Navigation" is checked.
How to Launch Skill Struck from Canvas
Students will now be able to launch Skill Struck from within a course! Students will need to log out and log back in to see this update. The following screenshots display how the button will look on a student's course navigation page.
