How to Hard Refresh

This article explains how to perform a hard refresh.

A hard refresh is a way of clearing the browser's cache for a specific page to load the most recent version of that page. A hard refresh can fix a number technical problems. Each browser has a different process to complete a hard refresh.  Here are instructions for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Chrome

Windows

      1. Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button.
      2. Or, Press Ctrl+F5.

Mac 

      1. Hold ⇧ Shift and click the Reload button
      2. Or, press ⌘ Cmd +⇧ Shift + R.

    Chromebook 

        1. Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button. On a Chromebook, be careful not to hold ⇧ Shift and press the physical reload key on the keyboard, or it will rotate the internal display.

    Safari 

    Windows 

        1. Hold the Ctrl key, press the F5 key
        2. Or, hold the Ctrl key, click the Refresh button

    Mac 

        1. Hold down ⌥ Option + ⌘ Cmd + E

    Firefox

    Windows

        1. Press Ctrl+F5.
        2. Or, press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + R

    Mac 

        1. Hold down ⇧ Shift and click the Reload button.
        2. Or, press ⌘ Cmd + ⇧ Shift + R

    Chromebook

        1. Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button. On a Chromebook, be careful not to hold ⇧ Shift and press the physical reload key on the keyboard, or it will rotate the internal display.

    Edge

    Windows

        1. Hold the Ctrl + F5.
        2. Or, press Ctrl and click the Reload button.
