When a student uses language related to self-harm or violence in Chat for Schools, the message is automatically flagged and the chat will not respond to or continue interacting on that topic.
The student is not automatically locked out of the platform and can continue using Chat for Schools unless a teacher or administrator manually restricts access.
If email notifications are enabled, teachers and/or administrators will receive an alert with context about the flagged interaction and can decide on any next steps based on school protocols.
