The Chat for Schools student portal gives students access to three tabs:
- Lessons
- Chats
- Tutors
Lessons
The Chat for Schools lessons teach students concepts that help them understand and better utilize AI chat. These lessons include a presentation and a quiz that teach content including the background of AI Chat, prompt writing, and general tips for getting the best out of Chat for Schools.
Teachers have access to additional professional development lessons.
Chats
The Chats tab is where students have access to their AI Chats. Students will spend the bulk of their time on this tab.
- To create a new chat, students will need to click the "New Chat" button at the top of the screen.
- Students can create folders to organize and manage their chat threads.
- All previous chats will be found under the heading labeled "All Chats."
- To send a chat, students will enter their text in the Chat textbox and click the blue submit button.
Chats have a built-in filter that removes personal identifiable information. When an inappropriate chat is sent, educators will be alerted.
Tutors
Chat for Schools tutors are tailor-made chat bots that focus on specific content. Custom tutors can have the voice of any person or character in history. The "Tutors" tab includes 6 built-in tutors. All assigned custom tutors will populate below the "Specialized Tutors" subheading.
