Blocks Activities in Launch Pad

Kindergarten through Grade 2 curriculum in Launch Pad includes an activity type called "Blocks." Blocks activities help to teach your students programming concepts using block-based coding.

How to Complete a Blocks Challenge

  1. Click the "Add Sprite" button and select a sprite.

  2. Drag the selected sprite to the code output.

  3. The instructions will display once entering the activity. If you need to see them again, click on What do I do?

  4. Drag the required blocks onto the code editor.

  5. Click the "Play" button to view your animation and the "Submit" button to submit the activity.

Additional Resources

There are two resources available to help with Blocks activities. The additional resources can be accessed by clicking the "Guides" button in the top right corner of the screen.

Block Guide

The Block Guide includes a picture and description of each block in Blocks. To navigate to the Block Guide, click the "Guides" button and click "Block Guide."

  • Each block includes a text-to-speech feature that reads the description aloud. 
  • The Block Guide can be printed.

Video Tutorials

There are also video tutorials that go over each concept required to complete Blocks activities. To navigate to the video tutorials, click the "Guides" button and click "Video Tutorials."
